If your Profoto Air Remote TTL-S is not providing TTL or HSS functionality with your Sony camera, please go through the following checks to resolve the issue efficiently:
1️⃣ Check camera compatibility
Not all Sony cameras support TTL and HSS with the Air Remote TTL-S.
Please visit Profoto’s compatibility page and verify that your Sony camera is listed as compatible with Profoto flashes for TTL and HSS.
2️⃣ Ensure the Air Remote TTL-S is fully inserted
Make sure your Air Remote TTL-S is fully and securely inserted into your camera’s hotshoe.
Push the Air Remote TTL-S into the hotshoe until it sits flush.
Engage the locking mechanism to secure it in place.
A loose connection may prevent TTL or HSS from functioning.
3️⃣ Update your camera’s firmware
Ensure your Sony camera is running the latest available firmware from Sony.
Outdated firmware may cause communication issues between your camera and the Air Remote TTL-S, impacting TTL and HSS functionality.
4️⃣ Set the flash mode to WL
Your Sony camera’s flash mode must be set to “WL” (Wireless) for the Air Remote TTL-S to control your Profoto flash correctly.
5️⃣ Turn off Silent Shooting
TTL and HSS will not function if Silent Shooting is enabled on your camera.
Navigate to your camera’s settings and ensure Silent Shooting is turned OFF before attempting to use TTL or HSS.
