The Profoto Camera app allows you to capture professional images by synchronizing your smartphone with your lights. It uses AirX technology to ensure the flash and camera shutter are perfectly timed, even at high speeds.
The following Profoto devices are compatible for capturing images within the app:
- A-series: Profoto A10 and Profoto A2.
- B-series: Profoto B10, B10 Plus, B10X, and B10X Plus.
- C-series: Profoto C1 and C1 Plus.
Key Features and Functionality
When you connect these devices to the Profoto Camera app, you gain access to the following capabilities:
- Smart Mode: An intuitive "point-and-shoot" mode that automatically calculates the best flash exposure based on your environment.
- Remote Control: Direct control of flash power, modeling lights, and color temperature (on supported models) from your phone.
- Firmware Updates: Wireless updates via Bluetooth to ensure your lights always have the latest features and performance enhancements.
Connectivity Requirements
To ensure a successful connection between your smartphone and your Profoto gear, please keep the following in mind:
- Bluetooth: Your smartphone’s Bluetooth must be switched on.
- Firmware: Ensure your Profoto device is running the latest firmware. You can check this within the app under the "Devices" section.
- Operating System: Use the latest version of iOS or Android for the best performance and stability.
Note: While other Profoto lights (such as the Pro-11 or D2) may connect to the app for remote control and firmware updates, only the models listed above currently support image capture directly with the smartphone camera.
