Introduction

ProStudio provides a tool to scan and/or search multiple products. The purpose is to allow you to create a list of products that you want t work with using several different tools, for example change tags on several products, check them in and add them to a work order.

Scan

Scanning lets you scan barcodes or hang tags and find all relevant products. The process is simple and easy to perform, simply follow these steps:

  1. Select Scan/Search multiple from the general product listing
  2. Place the cursor in the search field
  3. Scan your hangtag or barcode.

Products are added to the list autmatically

Search multiple

Search multiple works pretty much the same way that scan does, with the exception that you enter the search string manually. Follow these steps:

  1. Select Scan/Search multiple from the general product listing
  2. Place the cursor in the search field
  3. Enter your search string

Search multiple with excel

One of the key features in searching is that you may search using multiple values simultaneously. You may select a whole column of values from an excel list and past it into the search field and ProStudio will provide a result for each of the values. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Select Scan/Search multiple from the general product listing
  2. Go to your source excel file
  3. Select the column of values you want to search for and copy to clipboard
  4. Place the cursor in the search field and paste values

Scan/search options

There are some really good features when scanning/searching in this view:

  • Scan/search ALL fields in the system
  • Scan/search specific fields in the system
  • Auto

Scan/search ALL fields

Scanning or searching all fields means that the search is done on all relevant fields or parts of the fields. This means that you may get several results from one search string, e.g. searching for “123” may be exist in many columns in the product listing.

Scan/search specific fields

This means that you select which column to search in, this will perform the search with an exact matching, e.g. if you search using EAN-codes you may want to select the column containing the EAN codes in the system. This avoids getting result than what is expected.

Auto

Using Auto return means that you don’t have to press enter after inserting your search string. It helps if you are scanning hangtags or using copy paste on values. Using auto return will press the return key automatically. However, this is not very good if you are typing in a string manually why ProStudio gives you the option.
