Introduction
Adding and including new users is essential for most studios. It ensures that the necessary people are aligned and working in the same way, fostering consistency and collaboration across the team.
Prerequisite
In order to invite users you need to have a role that is defined for inviting users, please see User Roles below.
Inviting a User
To invite new users, follow these steps:
- Click on Settings > Users
- Click the person icon with a plus sign (located on the right side of the user table)
- Fill in the required fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Title (optional)
- User Role
- Ensure the checkbox for "Send invitation notification" is selected
- Click Send Invitation.
- An invitation email will be sent to the recipient
- If the email fails, copy the invite link from the table and send it manually
NOTE: The invitation email might end up in the recipient's junk or spam folder. If they can't find the invite in their inbox, kindly ask them to check their junk mail.
Recipient of invitation
Once the user receives the invitation, they’ll need to create their own unique password to gain access. This can be done through the invitation link provided.
Link validation
The invitation link is active for 8 days. If the user hasn’t signed in by then, the link will expire. To resolve this, simply delete the expired invite and repeat the process outlined above.
User Roles
When the application is delivered, we’ve pre-configured two roles: "Admin" and "User." These roles are ready to use straight out of the box.
We understand that some companies may require additional roles with specific permissions. As a result, we can set up as many roles as needed. While this is typically handled during onboarding, if you find that you need more roles later on, simply reach out to the Profoto Support team, and they’ll be happy to assist you.
