Asset Attributes

Modified on Fri, 28 Jun at 11:14 AM

Introduction

Asset attributes can be useful if you want to tag the Asset with specific data, for example if you export assets to a DAM and want to add the DAM's asset identity code to the exported Asset. Then you know that the Asset was successfully delivered and you know where to find it in the DAM. It also gives you the possibility to resend the asset, should this be required.

Note: Most external systems, like DAM solutions and PIM solutions, have their own system identifier for any resource. Thus it is important to reference that system identification code if you need to update something in these systems.

Adding Asset Attributes

Adding an Asset Attribute is as simple as with any other configuration in ProStudio. You simply do the following steps:

  1. Go to the "Settings/Advanced"
  2. Select "Asset Attribute"
  3. Click "Add new attribute"
  4. Fill in the fields
  5. Click "Save"

This attribute will be visible on the detailed view of the asset primarily

The configuration gives you some options to fill in and these are:

  1. Name
  2. Type
  3. Filter Type
  4. Enabled
  5. Required
  6. Show Attribute in List
  7. Sort Order

Name is simply what you want to call the attribute, if it is related to a DAM reference id it might want to name it with the DAM name

Type: is what type of attribute it is, and this is depending on the usage. You may choose between:

  • Text
  • Integer
  • Numeric
  • Bolean
  • Date

Filter Type allows you to define weather this attribute should be filterable in the Assetmodule. The filter type is dependent on what Type you choose

Enabled is simply to say weather this is in use or not

Required is used to say weather this field in required or not

Show Attribute in List is used to indicate weather this attribute should be visible in the Asset listing

Sort Order is used if you have many attributes in the list and you want to determine the order that they are displayed
