Introduction
Asset attributes are useful for tagging assets with specific data. For example, when exporting assets to a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, you can add the DAM's asset identity code to the exported asset. This allows you to confirm successful delivery and easily locate the asset within the DAM. Additionally, having this reference makes it simple to resend the asset if needed.
Note: Most external systems—such as DAM and PIM solutions—use their own unique identifiers for each resource. Therefore, it's important to reference these system-specific IDs when you need to update or manage content within those systems.
Adding Asset Attributes
Adding an Asset Attribute in ProStudio is just as straightforward as other configurations. Simply follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings > Advanced
Select Asset Attribute
Click Add New Attribute
Fill in the required fields
Click Save
This attribute will primarily be visible in the asset's detailed view.
Fields to complete
The configuration provides several options to complete, including:
- Name: This is the label you give the attribute. For example, if it's related to a DAM reference ID, you may want to name it according to the DAM system, such as "DAM Reference ID."
- Type: Defines the kind of attribute based on its intended use. You can choose from the following options:
Text
Integer
Numeric
Boolean
Date
- Filter Type: Specifies whether this attribute should be filterable within the Asset Module. The available filter options depend on the Type you select
- Enabled: Indicates whether the attribute is currently in use
- Required: Defines whether this attribute is mandatory to fill in
- Show Attribute in List: Determines if the attribute should be visible in the asset listing view
- Sort Order: Allows you to set the display order of attributes if there are multiple attributes in the list
