Introduction
Post-production workflows can greatly benefit from API connectors to external service providers, enhancing both efficiency and security. Services such as Pixelz, Bright River, and others streamline this process.
In ProStudio, we have a dedicated process within the Work Order to manage these integrations. This system ensures seamless communication with third-party providers and effectively controls the entire back-and-forth process, ensuring smooth and secure operations.
Prerequisites
To enable this process, you’ll need to set up a connector with the service provider. This can be done under Settings > Integrations.
Currently, we have a connector for Pixelz, but depending on your specific needs and the service provider you wish to use, we can create additional connectors.
Note; You will need to have an active account with the service provider you intend to integrate.

Creating a Post-production task
Post-production tasks can be managed directly within the Work Order, allowing you to easily monitor and control the process. Follow these steps to create a task:
Select the Work Order you wish to work with
Navigate to the Assets tab within the selected Work Order
Choose the images you want to send for retouching
Click on Action > Create Task > External Retouch
Select Integration and choose the appropriate service (e.g., "Pixelz")
Choose the desired template (e.g., "Green BG" if you want a green background)
Finally, click Save to create the task
Once saved, this task will be linked to the Work Order and can be monitored from there.
Monitor the task
You can monitor tasks under the "Tasks" tab within the Work Order. Here, you'll find a list of all tasks associated with the order, where you can track the status, see the assigned team member, and access additional task details.
By clicking on the task title, you can access more detailed information about the task. Here, you'll find all the Assets that have been sent for retouching, organised under three categories based on their current stage in the process:
At Retouch
Ready to Import
Imported
Thumbnails in ProStudio will display the image in its current state, and will be updated as the image progresses through the retouching process.
Depending on the service provider, a link may appear below the thumbnail. This link provides direct access to the image in the service provider's portal, where you can view more details or leave comments.
Any asset that has not been properly managed by the service provider will be marked with an "Error" label.
Importing assets
Once the assets are approved by the retouching partner, they can be imported into ProStudio. To ensure a smooth import process, make sure the images are marked as "Ready to Import." Here's how you can do it:
Select the images you want to import (you can choose all or select individual ones)
Click "Import"
The selected assets will be imported to the Assets view and will have a new status
