Introduction
When capturing model images, the primary goal is often to showcase a featured product, but the model will typically wear additional items as well. The standard approach is to create a 'Hero image' that highlights the main product, while providing supplementary information about the related 'look products' to offer a complete view of the ensemble.
In ProStudio, we can achieve all of this before even capturing the image. This is possible because we already have all the product information stored in the system. As a result, we can design the desired look during the planning phase or while on set, depending on your preferred workflow.
In this example, you can see the main product image under "Assets" and the corresponding look product listed under "Look Products.".
Look products are created within the Work Order and can be added both during the planning phase and on set while photographing. There are two main methods to add a Look product to ProStudio:
Scan or Search for Look Products
Import Look Products via Excel
Create a look product via scan or search look products
This is the process to follow when you're already on set or when adding just a few look products to a photo shoot:
Open the selected Work Order
Go to the "Products" tab within the Work Order
Click on the product you want to designate as your Hero product (a panel will appear on the right-hand side of the screen)
In the panel, locate and click on the "Look Products" row (a search panel will open)
Place your cursor in the search field. You can now either scan the barcode or manually search for the look product (if only one result appears, it will automatically be added to your selection. If multiple results are found, a list will appear for you to choose from - see image)
Once selected, the look product(s) will be added to your Work Order
To remove a look product, simply click the "X" next to the product in the right-hand panel
This enables you to quickly add or adjust looks on set, perfect for making last-minute changes.
Note: To search for or scan Look products, they must already be available in ProStudio. Ensure that you’ve imported them into ProStudio before you begin.
Creating Look product via Excel
You can also create Look products using Excel, allowing you to import both product data and the relationships between a Hero product and its related Look products. To do this, first prepare the Excel file, then import the data into ProStudio.
Using Excel
The first thing to decide is whether you want to import just the relationship between already imported Hero products and Look products, or if you also want to import the full product data.
If you want to import all the product information, ensure that all required fields are filled out, as outlined in 'Importing Product Information Using Excel'. If you only need to import the Look product relationships, simply create an Excel file with a column for the unique identifier.
Regardless of whether you're adding only relations or importing product information simultaneously, follow these steps:
Add a column at the end of the Excel spreadsheet.
Enter the unique identifier for each Look product.
If you need to associate multiple Look products with a single Hero product, duplicate the Hero product and add the second Look product on the new row.
Repeat this process until all Hero products are linked to the appropriate Look products.
Proceed to import the Look products as described below.
Importing Product Information using Excel
Follow these steps:
Select the correct Work Order.
Go to the Products tab within the Work Order.
Click on Action and then select Import.
Confirm that the correct Work Order is selected.
Choose the Excel file you want to import.
Match the columns with the product information.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the column labeled 'Look Products by Identifier' is properly matched.
Continue with the import process as usual.
