Introduction
In ProStudio, we adopt a "Product First" approach to streamline your workflow. This means you begin by identifying the products to be captured, followed by selecting the corresponding photo samples. To support this, we’ve introduced the "Products" feature, which stores all relevant product data, helping your team plan more efficiently and boosting overall productivity.
Products
The purpose of integrating Product data into the Studio is to enhance efficiency in your workflow. By incorporating essential details such as product categories, colours, descriptions, and gender information, we help streamline and organise the studio's operations, allowing your team to work more effectively and stay better organised.
Unique Identifier
At the heart of ProStudio is a UNIQUE IDENTIFIER that ensures each product is exclusive. In the product listing, one of the columns is dedicated to differentiating products from each other. This means you can’t simply identify a product by a generic name, like "T-Shirt white."
Note: If you try to shoot another white t-shirt, you risk overwriting the data for the original "T-Shirt white," as it would be treated as the same product.
Functions
Search and Filters
With the search and filter function, you can refine your product selection and focus on a smaller, more relevant dataset. This feature lets you search across various attributes in the product listing, including SKU, product name, category, colour, and more, enabling you to take action on exactly what you need.
The Filter feature is another powerful tool for isolating product data. In the filter view, you can utilise functions like:
- And/OR: Combine multiple criteria to refine your search.
- Include/Exclude: Select specific attributes to include or exclude from your results.
These options help you narrow down product data precisely to suit your needs.
When used in combination with the tagging function, it becomes a powerful tool for planning your work ahead. Tagging allows you to categorise and label products more effectively, while the filter and search functions help you quickly access and organise the data you need. Together, these features enhance workflow planning and streamline your process.
Note: The filter view can be customised to align with your specific workflow. For more details on how to configure it, please refer to System Configuration: Product Attributes.
Projects
The Projects function allows you to organise the product listing into separate categories. This feature is particularly useful when you need to differentiate by seasons, brands, or clients (especially if you're a service provider). It helps keep your workflow organised and tailored to specific needs.
Please refer to Product overview, Projects, for more information.
Search and Scan
This function is ideal for creating a curated list of products on which you can perform multiple actions. It’s also useful for saving the list for later use, ensuring that the list remains intact until you decide to clear it.
Once you’ve built your preferred list, you can take multiple actions on it without losing your selection, streamlining your workflow and saving time.
Actions
The Actions menu allows you to efficiently manage your product data. The following actions are available:
- Add to work order
- Check-in/out
- Delete products
- Edit products
- Edit project(s)
- Edit tags
- Export to Excel
- Import
- New product
These options enable you to make updates, organise, and export product data with ease.
Columns
The Columns function lets you choose which information to display while working on the platform, allowing you to customise your view for greater efficiency.
Note: The "Columns" function is user-specific, meaning each user can set their own preferences for what information to display.
Product Data
Standard Configurations
When setting up ProStudio, the platform is configured using one of the following templates:
- Wholesale brands
- Retailers
- Content service providers
We recognise that different companies have unique requirements based on their specific operations. These templates are designed to streamline the onboarding process.
Each template comes with predefined attributes, including some that cannot be deselected, such as:
- Check-in/out – Related to sample management.
- NO assets – Indicates the number of assets associated with the product.
- Work orders – Tracks where the product has been planned for use.
This configuration ensures a faster, more tailored setup for your team.
Customisation options
The standard fields in ProStudio can be renamed and reorganised to better align with your specific workflow. Additionally, new attributes can be added, and these can go beyond just plain text fields. For more details, please refer to System Configuration: Product Attributes.
Note: Customisation of product attributes requires the "Custom Configuration" setting to be active. For more information, please contact your local ProStudio admin or the Profoto support team.
Tags
The Tags function is a powerful feature that allows you to assign tags to products, enhancing both filter and search capabilities. It helps your team quickly identify and organise products, making it easier to plan and manage different types of products.
For example, when importing an entire season’s collection and you need to make a rough plan for what to shoot on a model versus on a mannequin, you can tag the products accordingly. This enables you to easily sort and filter the data based on your market strategy, streamlining your workflow.
